Cross-Country Skiing Adventure in Sleeping Bear Dunes!
Discover Leelanau county’s miles of public trails in and out of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore on cross country skis. Cross country skis allow you to be out in the winter feeling the thrill of sliding on snow without the wait of lift lines. Simple, comfortable equipment makes it easy to learn and enjoy.
The Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail will be groomed for winter sports. The first two portions are now open and have quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike! While funding is still being raised for the remaining portions of the trail, these first two portions are open for year-round enjoyment!
The Crystal River and Heritage Trail are within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. A Park Entrance Pass, either weekly or annual pass, is required. Passes are available for purchase onsite at all shops operated by the Crystal River Outfitters Recreational District.
Rental includes skis, poles, and boots. Equipment must be returned within business hours.
